Green Day's Billie Joe Is Coming To Prime Time TV

American Idol creator and producer Simon Fuller should've been taking notes when cohort and judge Simon Cowell crept away from the presence of an A.D.D. American audience. Don't spend millions savoring the flavor of what's working and begin a daily ritual of constantly processing invitations of change. Basically meaning the most recent transportation out the door of Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and long timer Randy Jackson came a year too late. The move to remove should've happened the very second the network's overpaid research company discovered fans of season ten felt a strong connection to the threesome. The good news is two weeks ago on American Top 40 with Ryan Seacrest, Fuller unveiled a hot new plan, "We should switch out the judges each season." Wait! Isn't NBC's The Voice sort of kind, well maybe in a really close way playing that twin spin? Can you name the cute little green figure coming on board? Rollingstone Magazine reports Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day has been tapped as a mentor. The front man will join Christina Aguilera's team to help advise contestants in the singing competition. Stop! For the love of God didn't Billie catch enough crap from punk fans for going Pop Rock? "[The Voice is] not molding artists, it's just giving them a little bit of guidance and direction without giving them a complete makeover," said Armstrong in a statement. Armstrong began taping for the upcoming third season of The Voice on July 25th. The third season of The Voice premieres September 10th. Green Day has an upcoming album trilogy, entitled ¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡TrĂ©!, with Uno! set for a September 25th release. Earlier this month, Mary J. Blige joined The Voice as a mentor for Adam Levine's team. Oh...being that's it's an election year and every talent show demands votes then we have to give every player equal time. Simon Cowell's X Factor hits the air September 12th starring Britney Spears. I'd be shocked if Saturday Night Live isn't anxiously awaiting the arrival of what could be this year's biggest reoccurring comedy bit.
