You Thought You Knew Stairway To Heaven

Social Media... what an incredible tool! Not only do we have the unheard version of Zeppelins Stairway to Heaven but I talk with the producer of a huge radio show that will be broadcast nationwide this weekend on I Heart Media's Classic Rock Stations. A new version of Stairway to Heaven? There was once an age when being a Classic Rock came with mystery. You didn't need to paint your face. You only need a writing instrument to pen the lyrics from winds of present and past. Led Zeppelin Stairway to Heaven. Easily it seems to be the greatest piece of music written in our time. And with it comes the great mystery. A new version of the song that hasn't been heard until now. It plays down the process and energy of John Paul Jones' recorder. Even more shocking is the lack of John Bonham's drums due to Jimmy Pages guitar sounds being the bigger demand. Note: This weekend on multiple I Heart Media radio stations a very special Led Zeppelin special will be aired. Locate it and become part of this historic moment.

Jim Peterik Last Band Standing

Jim Peterik isn't an every day name. But if it wasn't for his songwriting. Other bands of Classic Rock wouldn't have become every day names. Jim Peterik. Unless you're a faithful fan of The Ides of March. Jim's name isn't top of mind. But his Classic Rock is. He's the writing instrument that put 38 Special, Sammy Hagar and Survivor on the radio map. Jim's got a new catalog coming out in January. Last Band Standing. Look into Jim's career. His participation with music beyond the first step proves that passion for lyrics and riffs has a way of getting cranked up years after the first appearance. He's a true Rock n Roll hero.

Dennis Deyoung Takes Over LA

What did I say inside the I Heart Radio Studio that would force Dennis Deyoung to stop our conversation and ask me to join his current tour? That answer is coming up in the Unplugged and Totally Uncut interview to be posted soon. But right now... what kept STYX from being America's Led Zeppelin? I've hosted countdowns and specialty programs since 1976, Rarely was there ever a show that didn't include Styx and or Dennis DeYoung. For years radio served as the social media between the artist and listener. Today the artists are reconnecting by physically sharing incredible conversation. Dennis isn't in the sticks with his lyrics... He's back on stage making music work. Through radio you think you know. But how much do you realize? The journey isn't complete until the man behind the curtain explains who what where and why.
