You Thought You Knew Stairway To Heaven

Social Media... what an incredible tool! Not only do we have the unheard version of Zeppelins Stairway to Heaven but I talk with the producer of a huge radio show that will be broadcast nationwide this weekend on I Heart Media's Classic Rock Stations. A new version of Stairway to Heaven? There was once an age when being a Classic Rock came with mystery. You didn't need to paint your face. You only need a writing instrument to pen the lyrics from winds of present and past. Led Zeppelin Stairway to Heaven. Easily it seems to be the greatest piece of music written in our time. And with it comes the great mystery. A new version of the song that hasn't been heard until now. It plays down the process and energy of John Paul Jones' recorder. Even more shocking is the lack of John Bonham's drums due to Jimmy Pages guitar sounds being the bigger demand. Note: This weekend on multiple I Heart Media radio stations a very special Led Zeppelin special will be aired. Locate it and become part of this historic moment.

Bryan Adams has always been looked upon as being Classic Rock's Canadian Silhouette. He's there. But more than often. Nobody brags about popping in a Brian Adams cd.

Paying Tribute To Jackson Browne

Hey remember Jackson Browne? Critics of Classic Rock have always said he's one of few that mastered the art of cutting right to the emotional core — taking listeners deep inside very personal situations. Then the man and poetic expressions dropped off the page. Until now. Don Henley, Bruce Springsteen, Bonnie Raitt, Lyle Lovett and long list of others are paying tribute to Mr. Browne with an album called Looking Into You.

Robert Plant Calls Out To Jimmy Page, "Time for new music."

Robert Plant has placed the call to Jimmy Page, "It's time for new music from Zeppelin." Robert Plant has placed the called. Zeppelin's front man wants his legendary guitarist Jimmy Page to get back to business. It's time to write new music. Plant believes his onetime creative partner needs a friendly public nudge. Jimmy Page has responded. Claiming he’s sitting on lots of new material. But as of late his focus has been on Zeppelin reissues. Why is Robert Plant giving the idea of new music such a big push. This quote says it all, "There's only three or four front men left, from our time, who actually just kick the mic stand up and do it, and that’s me, Rod Stewart and Mick Jagger. Can we contemporize the gift? Can I knock myself out, or am I just going through the motions? Because if I’m going through the motions, I’m f—ed.”

Phil Rudd from AC/DC New Solo Effort

Phil Rudd is a name you don't hear much about. Not unless AC/DC is cruising back to town. Just because the tour bus is parked doesn't mean it's time to blow torch it then sell the metal. AC/DC's drummer says Malcolm Young's current health issues won't unplug Australia's most famous band of brothers. Although there's no direct plans for AC/DC's new album to be released. He recently vowed to fans of Classic Rock that only death can stop the band. Until then they can take in his first ever solo effort. Head Job hits I Heart Radio on Friday. The first cut is Repo Man

Motley Crue The Final Tour

Motley Crue rocks the PNC tonight. You can't just do one Rock Report packed with incredible interviews. Hold on tight. We're gonna blow the roof off your computer with three interviews. Three reports today. Motley Crue's Classic Rock appeal has always been based on feeding fans an overdose of metal bathed in a pool of L.A. lifestyle. Rarely have the critics come out and called them inventors of a new sound... but it happened with Shout at the Devil. From the very beginning the members of Motley Crue knew they were gonna stir up the pot of parental approved Rock. The finger pointing and accusations began with the album cover Checking into a Motley Crue final tour requires an answer. What song has the band made their final piece of your town history? Is it Home Sweet Home?

Carlos Santana Set To Release Corazon

We've spent the last forty years jamming to the mind blowing guitar riffs of Carlos Santana. Did you know his success in music is based on always improvising. The songs are never played the same way twice. Carlos Santana. As of late. He's been "The missing piece" from Classic Rock's long awaited resurrection. We've seen Plant, Daltry, Sabbath, Boston and Deep Purple. But Mr. Santana has been far far away in a different gallaxy. Until September 9th. That's when the DVD/CD combo Corazon: Live it to Believe It hits Amazon and ITunes.

Abbey Road A Selfie Paradise

The infamous Abbey Road crosswalk has been overtaken by people taking selfies. Major changes on the way... Abbey Road. By far. The most famous crosswalk in history. The very scene where John Paul Ringo and George shot the picture for the album cover. Has become excessively overcrowded. Pedestrians snapping selfies has brought Westminster city traffic to a halt. Councilman say it's time for a crossing guard...

Joey Kramer From Aerosmith Update

Aerosmith is forced off the tour bus and this time its not because of Steven Tyler Joey Kramer. You know him. Big chance you've been Rockin with him the entire distance. Without his skins and heart pounding kick pedals. How much of Aerosmith would you truly be addicted to? During this long hard drive to reconnect. Then stay in tune to music like a classic Mustang and Corvette. The makers of our harmonious addictions are breaking down. Aerosmith was forced off the tour bus last night. There's talk that Drummer Joey Kramer needs the timing belt changed in his ticker. No word yet on whether it's going to affect their August 28th show in Atlanta. The good news is... Joey Kramer's hard hitting drum smacking rhythm carrying arms feet and invisible beat are in the shop. And if this was Reality TV... fans would probably hire Danny from Counting Cars to refurbish this classic.

Cinderella Should Be Listed Under Classic Rock

The producers kept Cinderella from being the Classic Rocker's music intended them to be. They were the furthest thing from being just another Hair Band. A bit of confusion has always played a role within the ranks of Classic Rock. Who and what is? Hard guitar Jeff Labar and his Cinderella walk a fine line of description. Until you hear him bare his rooted soul.

AC/DC was actually a band from the 60's. Three brothers. The Bee Gees moved from Australia to find fame. The Angus Brothers kept themselves plugged in. Jesse Finks incredible story about AC/DC is out. Malcolm, Angus and George. Young. The AC/DC foundation that helped keep Classic Rock finely tuned and in shape post 1970's. And they did so by flying under the radar. Jesse Fink has penned out the AC/DC story. Unveiling verbal riffs and bass beat struggles from a band that actually started in the 1960's.

Fans To Blame For Poor Reception of Aerosmith Album

Fans of Classic Rock have themselves to blame. That's how Aerosmith's bass guitarist best explains why the band's album Music From Another Dimension sits nearly next to silence on a favorites list. Tom Hamilton says, "Fans didn't do their homework. They didn't let the music grow on them." No matter how much Tom and company try to make the next great Aerosmith album. Two things have to occur: Fans have to stop being so quick on removing themselves from a track. It's not a game of C’est la vie. And Joe Perry can't be focused on solo projects. Which he agrees to. Claiming the next time. Aerosmith will release two songs. Then another two. Then maybe another album

Paul McCartney shouts out, "Brian Ray on guitar!!!"

Who Killed Brian Jones

The death of Rolling Stones co-found Brian Jones is back in the headlines. Did he drown in that swimming pool? A deathbed confession says otherwise. Paul Stanley of KISS says it best. It's the music "business." What happens when business deals go bad? Can the Maker's of Classic Rock disappear just as quickly as mob figures in a Martin Scorsese film? Author Terry Rawlings thinks so. He's pushing hard to prove Brian Jones. Co-founder of the Rolling Stones was knocked off by Frank Thorogood. A contractor locked into a bad deal. Terry Rawlings penned out the evidence in his book Who Killed Christopher Robbins. Claiming Thorogood confessed to the deed on his deathbed. But it gets even deeper. The alleged argument that led to the death of Brian Jones has been said to have started because of Keith Richards and Mic Jagger fighting over the naming rights of the Rolling Stones. Who Killed Christopher Robbins? You watch enough CSI. Time to find some Satisfaction.

ZZ Top Tour Takes A Brief Left At The Rest Area

ZZ Top has been tapped to step off the tour bus. The Texas Rocker's won't be hitting Asheville next Wednesday night. Knowing all things medical should be taken seriously. But do you remember the day when the thunder makers of arenas were forced into timeout because of addiction, love lost and behind the scenes fighting? It shaped the giants of show business. Turning them into comic book super heroes. Well...the times. They are a changin. Ticket Taker's demanding to see their favorite bands live on stage have to put up with the process of age. Bassist Dusty Hill has kidney stones. Which...rumor has it can easily be cured by hops and barley processed into liquid perfection.

Pink Floyd announces the release of their new album The Endless River while sending out extremely raw guitar riffs that'll be creative placed inside their notoriously brilliant lyrics. Pink Floyd is back in the game. This October. Fans of Classic Rock will be IPoding The Endless River. All those secret sessions? Weren't for a David Gilmore solo project. Presently. Most of the new Pink Floyd project is instrumental. As a way to toy with social networking. The band has freakishly been playing with fans by releasing YouTube videos of the ambient sounds Floyd's been known to deliver. The twenty year wait is almost over. David and company laugh about it. Saying Who fans had to wait twenty four years for Its Hard and Endless Wire and those still cheering for the Eagles clocked in 28 years for the first release after The Long Run. Oh wait... Did I mention Roger Waters isn't part of the new Pink Floyd.
