Johnny Winters Steps Back

The best of Classic Rock might not be in your past. Johnny Winters has just unleashed a hot new collection of blues riffs and rhythms that feature Eric Clapton, Billy Gibson of ZZ Top, Joe Perry and Joe Bonamassa. Johnny says, "If there’s good people, other good musicians, people enjoy it.” The super band package has dubbed ‘Step Back. And step back they do. Clapton performs with the Blues Brother's horn section on the old Ray Charles song ‘Unchain My Heart.’ Billy Gibbon plays ‘Where Can You Be’ — While long Dr. John honors Fats Domino with ‘Blue Monday.’ Oh and Brian Setzer does ‘Okie Dokie Stomp,’ made famous by Clarence “Gatemouth” Perry lights up Lightin’ Hopkins’ ‘Mojo Hand,’ he says it's his way of paying back a huge favor. “If it weren’t for Johnny Winter,” Joe admits, “I would have never picked up the guitar.”
