Kinks Getting Back Together?

Call it a late Christmas present. You know...Santa procrastinating. The moment 2014 pulled into the man cave. The Kinks announced. They're getting back together. Brother's Ray and Dave Davies. Along with drummer Mick Avory have been teasing fans of Classic Rock for nearly three months. Why now? Oh it's that thing called communication. Dave took one look at his brother Ray and said, "It’d be a great shame if we don’t try and do something,” Critics have always called the brothers most famous bickering siblings since Cain and Abel.” But don't expect the Kinks to tour under a nostalgia umbrella. The comeback of the band has to be based on releasing new material not memory busting riffs and lyrics from a past you can't change. Jimi Hendrix is back on the map. His London apartment is now a museum. Pushing the plan forward. Jimi's fans. The new museum will feature more than just memorabilia. Students of music will be invited to participate with learning programs designed to study the connection between classic music becoming the rock genre.

Jack Bruce Is Back

Fans of Classic Rock know the name Jack Bruce. Not just another face in history of music. But the formula that fed the bass strings that drove Cream's White Room around the world. Jack is back. A new album he calls, ’Silver Rails,’ The project was laid out and put into play at the world famous Abbey Road Studios. Featuring drummer Cindy Blackman Santana, John Medeski and Vernon Reid of the 90's band Living Color. Which pretty much proves... true Classic Rock never stops growing forward

One Direction Could Be Going The Wrong Way

Stealing riffs and kicks from music's biggest... has always been tough to win. But what happens when modern thunder makers sound too much like Classic Rockers? What's good for Pete Townsend. Might not be so good for Def Leppard. Their "one direction" is hooking up with a lawyer.

New Album From Springsteen and Ringo Starr Headed For TV

2013 has been a brilliantly busy year for Classic Rocker's still in love with making music. Tom Sholz and Boston ended ten years of silence. KISS is in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame and Bruce Springsteen has a new collection of tunes dubbed ‘High Hopes’ New material? No...not really. Bruce caught himself dipping into long past poetry and realized, "Whoa...fermenting lyrics lead to future success." Inviting Tom Morello to the E Street Band kicked up a little dust that's now become a storm. Former Beatle Ringo Starr has always been known as the goofy one. Starting in January. He'll continue the tradition. He's been inked to voice a character on the Cartoon Network. This isn't the first kids show Ringo has been part of... He was the narrator on ‘Thomas & Friends’

Ace Frehley's Home Burns

Call it a bad case of Classic Rock deja vu. 37 years ago Kiss Guitarist Ace Frehley was electrocuted on stage. This morning. An electrical fire caused by a tree falling in the backyard. Destroyed Ace Frehley's home. The musician quickly responded on Face Book: I'm very thankful that no one was hurt! The fire department and police did a great job, and I'm very grateful to them for all of their help and courage in this matter...job well done. Speaking of Classic Rock fires.
