Kinks Getting Back Together?
Call it a late Christmas present. You know...Santa procrastinating. The moment 2014 pulled into the man cave. The Kinks announced. They're getting back together.
Brother's Ray and Dave Davies. Along with drummer Mick Avory have been teasing fans of Classic Rock for nearly three months.
Why now? Oh it's that thing called communication. Dave took one look at his brother Ray and said, "It’d be a great shame if we don’t try and do something,”
Critics have always called the brothers most famous bickering siblings since Cain and Abel.”
But don't expect the Kinks to tour under a nostalgia umbrella. The comeback of the band has to be based on releasing new material not memory busting riffs and lyrics from a past you can't change.
Jimi Hendrix is back on the map. His London apartment is now a museum.
Pushing the plan forward. Jimi's fans.
The new museum will feature more than just memorabilia. Students of music will be invited to participate with learning programs designed to study the connection between classic music becoming the rock genre.

Jack Bruce Is Back
Fans of Classic Rock know the name Jack Bruce.
Not just another face in history of music. But the formula that fed the bass strings that drove Cream's White Room around the world.
Jack is back. A new album he calls, ’Silver Rails,’
The project was laid out and put into play at the world famous Abbey Road Studios. Featuring drummer Cindy Blackman Santana, John Medeski and Vernon Reid of the 90's band Living Color.
Which pretty much proves... true Classic Rock never stops growing forward

Iron Maiden Vesus Illegal Downloading
To illegally download or not to illegally download. Who benefits from the art of stealing music?
If you're Iron Maiden. It's the band. Not the fan.
Research shows. Those stealing music are completely engaged. They have more to give. They're dedicated. Loyal and endless with their support. So Iron Maiden has employed the services of Musicmetric to see what they can do as artists to give back to the fan that has kept their sound alive.
The answer: Perform live in the cities with the most illegal downloads.
According to Musicmetric. The most engaged fans are those willing to buy concert tickets, t-shirts and other memorabilia.
It's paid off. Iron Maiden just wrapped up a series of sold out shows in South America. An area of the world the majority of music's finest never thought of traveling.

One Direction Could Be Going The Wrong Way
Stealing riffs and kicks from music's biggest... has always been tough to win. But what happens when modern thunder makers sound too much like Classic Rockers? What's good for Pete Townsend. Might not be so good for Def Leppard. Their "one direction" is hooking up with a lawyer.
Greg Allman Before Greg Allman
Greg Allman. A Classic Rock icon. Which icon played a pivotal role in his southern rock beginning? When did he realize the band found fame? What's the one thing that stood more important than making music?

New Album From Springsteen and Ringo Starr Headed For TV
2013 has been a brilliantly busy year for Classic Rocker's still in love with making music. Tom Sholz and Boston ended ten years of silence. KISS is in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame and Bruce Springsteen has a new collection of tunes dubbed ‘High Hopes’
New material? No...not really. Bruce caught himself dipping into long past poetry and realized, "Whoa...fermenting lyrics lead to future success."
Inviting Tom Morello to the E Street Band kicked up a little dust that's now become a storm.
Former Beatle Ringo Starr has always been known as the goofy one.
Starting in January. He'll continue the tradition. He's been inked to voice a character on the Cartoon Network.
This isn't the first kids show Ringo has been part of... He was the narrator on ‘Thomas & Friends’

Ace Frehley's Home Burns
Call it a bad case of Classic Rock deja vu. 37 years ago Kiss Guitarist Ace Frehley was electrocuted on stage.
This morning. An electrical fire caused by a tree falling in the backyard. Destroyed Ace Frehley's home.
The musician quickly responded on Face Book: I'm very thankful that no one was hurt!
The fire department and police did a great job, and I'm very grateful to them for all of their help and courage in this matter...job well done.
Speaking of Classic Rock fires. The heated streets between Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora didn't burn into the live performance profits.
Billboard Magazine reports Jon Bon Jovi made more money touring in 2013 than any other artist. He grossed $205 million
Springsteen came in at number four. The Stones at 6. MCCartney and Fleetwood Mac the mid-teens

Pure Boston. Brought to life the way only Tom could. “Analogue gear is very responsive,” he explained. “You don’t to look at any numbers; you don’t have to input any data. Doing this in digital, it wouldn’t have been a 10-year project, it would have been a lifetime project.”

Then again... Paul might be communicating with John Lennon.

Classic Rock Report: McCartney Improvs with Adel's Producer Paul Epworth

The recording studio has always been a playground for Paul McCartney. Barely gripping a bag of tricks. His most recent digital adventure included Adel's producer Paul Epworth. Picture McCartney hitting the drums. Then moving over to the keyboard. Outside of the world of music...Improv is a movement of expression based on being aware and totally unprepared for a spur of the moment realism. Being caught in the moment ignited the rhythms and riffs. Lyrics came next.

Classic Rock Report: Grateful Dead Beer And David Lee Roth Greatest Hits
Listen to the report on I Heart Radio
Rockin a great Tober-fest requires the right mix. Classic Rock chased by a brilliant brew. Both of which are about to become one in a single can.
American Beauty from The Grateful Dead. Hits the market next month.
Beer critics call it a “bold pale ale made with 100 percent U.S.-grown ingredients.”
Might I add... completely concocted by a fan of the band.
The Grateful Dead pretty much promoted all thins natural. Why not its brand of beer? A granola mix. Featuring light almonds, orange-blossom honey, red grenadine, rose hips and jalapenos.
The mixer of good deeds is Butler. A chemist. He sent the test batch of American Beauty to Dogfish Head brewery in Delaware. The suds are ready to hit shelves within a few weeks. 27 states. Launch parties are expected. Hosted by the band and brewery in California, New York and Virginia.
Fans of Classic Rock were pretty much jacked the moment David Lee Roth returned to Van Halen. Will those same fans support the front man when he releases a greatest hits collection?
David Lee Roth‘s solo career. 16 cuts. Plus a DVD blasting with videos.
Hmmm I'm a pretty big Diamond Dave Fan. How long before his package ends up in the dollar bin at Wal-Mart?
