New Def Leppard Out Today

Joe Elliott of Def Leppard. The bands brand new album is out today. Simply titled Def Leppard, it comes seven years after their last studio effort, 2008's Songs From the Sparkle Lounge. Singer Joe Elliott tells us the initial plan was to record an EP, but after the guys got together to share ideas, they realized they had enough material for an album. And guitarist Phil Collen adds, "I think this is the best thing we've done since Hysteria. It has a different kind of flavor to it." The album contains 14 songs, and a video for the first single, "Let's Go," is also out today (Friday). Other song titles include "Dangerous," "Man Enough," "We Belong," "Invincible," "Sea of Love" and "Energized."

Keith Richards On Drugs and Music

Keith Richards. One of the most brilliant riff writers in music history. He's also known for his drug abuse. To which he had no problem talking about. Wait until you hear how its impacted his kids. Picking some of his favorite songs on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs, Keith said, “It was something that I had to stop because I realized there are experiments that go on too long. Some people can handle things and other people can’t. If the drugs become more important than the music, then you’ve lost the battle.” He added that he never sat down to discuss the dangers of drugs with any of his four children. "None of my kids have shown any interest in drugs at all." Asked if they were "watching and learning" from their father, he said, "I think maybe they were." In 2011, Keith's third child, daughter Theodora, was arrested for vandalism, and police found marijuana and another controlled substance in her possession.

Tusk Is On The Rebound

Take a look at these two different photographs of Lindsey Buckingham with Fleetwood Mac. The shorter hair symbolized a moment in music history. The man that produced the band talks about it. Ken Caillat was the master behind the knobs and buttons. Taking thought and turning it into sound. Fleetwood Mac was the band fresh off the success of Rumors. Then one day Lindsey Buckingham wanted to change what put them on top of the charts. Fleetwood Mac's 20-song Tusk album, which was originally released in 1979, has gotten bigger. A deluxe version out on December 4th will box up the original double-platinum double-album on two vinyl LPs plus five CDs containing the original album remastered, an alternate version of it made up of session outtakes, 22 live performances from the 1979 Tusk tour, a 5.1 surround mix of Tusk on DVD-Audio, singles, demos and remixes. Highlights include an outtake of “Think About Me” and an early version of “That’s Enough for Me” called “Out on the Road.” A smaller "expanded" edition trims that down to three CDs, omitting the surround mix and the concert tracks. Fleetwood Mac is currently on tour Down Under with a show in Adelaide, Australia on Wednesday.

Paul Stanley Talks About The Famous Paint

Paul Stanley tells it like it is. Who owns the rights to those famous KISS faces? The most shocking part of the interview wasn't how Gene and Paul became owners. It was when Paul easily confessed that anyone take over where he leaves off. That's the first ever I've heard him talk about retirement. It doesn't mean he's ready now. He just wants fans to know that he team called KISS will live on no matter who's behind the paint.

Don Henley and Mick Jagger Record Together

Don Henley never needs to explain. His new collection of hits on Cass County lean a little on the Country Music side. Which shouldn't come as a shock. We've all heard the early stages of the Eagles. But it goes deeper than that. The artists that influenced him were knee deep in Country. Henley talks about how the Rolling Stones were heavily influenced by the sound of the south.
